The mission of ISG-ORI is to advance operational research through innovative, interdisciplinary, and ethical research practices. The Institute aims to systematically transform data into knowledge, develop advanced decision-support systems, and design artificial intelligence–based models that support evidence-based decision-making across healthcare, engineering, management, energy, mathematics, and social systems. ISG-ORI is committed to producing high-quality scientific outputs, fostering academic collaboration, and contributing to societal well-being and sustainable development.

Vision
Guided by the visionary philosophy of the Founding Rector of Near East University, Prof. Dr. Suat Günsel—“Living on the island as if on a continent”—the Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel Operational Research Institute (ISG-ORI) aspires to transcend geographical boundaries by advancing globally relevant, high-impact research. The Institute envisions becoming an internationally recognized center of excellence in operational research and decision sciences, leading population-based and data-driven studies that address critical gaps in healthcare and other strategic data infrastructures.

ISG-ORI aims to integrate rigorous scientific methodologies with modern artificial intelligence and advanced analytics, foster a strong and sustainable research culture, and educate future generations of highly qualified researchers through postgraduate and postdoctoral programs.
